Call for Application:

Torbjörn Holmström appointed new chair of the VREF Board

Torbjörn Holmström, Senior Advisor to the CEO Volvo Group in Research and Technology, has been appointed Chair of the Board of the Assar Gabrielsson's Foundation, as from January 2020. He will be succeeding Urban Wass, who will retire after chairing the Board for the past nine years.

Torbjörn Holmström has held many positions at the Volvo Group, including Chief Technology Officer of the Volvo Group and Executive Vice President of Group Trucks Technology (2014-2016), also serving as its Member of the Volvo Group Executive Board. He has served as a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutz AG and is currently Vice Chair of the Board of Chalmers University of Technology. Mr. Holmström holds an M. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
